Welcome

A Victorian local, run by Karen and Gareth

The building dates from around 1890 and is Grade II listed. Karen is the landlady, and Gareth has been back as general manager since 2023.

Come in for home-cooked food from local suppliers, a pint from the hand pumps or a room for the night. Our 2024 refresh brought new paint, signs and lighting, the decking and a restored Royal Crest on the front of the pub.

Food and drink

Pub classics, cooked in our kitchen

Lunch and evening, every day. Burgers, steaks, fish and chips, and lighter plates such as filled baguettes, jacket potatoes and a ploughman’s. Vegetarians get proper choices, from halloumi and falafel burgers to bean chilli, and there’s a children’s menu for under 10s.
